Show Notes:
We are living in deeply uncertain and incredibly threatening times. It is natural that we look to the things we are certain about to make us feel safe. If we know the threat, we can fight it or run from it, but what happens when there is no certainty, when there is no known path. Ashely and Sara Cate discuss building a relationship to your own body that allows for even a moments experience of safety, even one breath of recognizing that you can, even briefly, find spaciousness in your own system. They discuss how trauma and chaos affect your brains ability to listen to what is presently happening in your body. When we are able to help our nervous system and body slow down our brain can follow.
There are times we will need to act and fight and there are times we need to find restoration and pause even with everything happening around us and our bodies can be incredible supports in that. Sara Cate and Ashley know you can't generalize the experience of safety but everyone who has a body can utilize the clarity that comes from even one fuller breath. We need to be able to act and engage to protect ourselves, but if we are depleted that can inhibit our ability to do what we need to. Sara Cate + Ashley are here to face these uncertain times with you, hopefully with a fuller breath and a more grounded sense of connection to your body.
