About this listen
We think we have found the most Italian Australian person in Australia and he joined us our guest in this episode! After a couple of failed attempts, the Malocchio finally lifted and we were able to have this chat. Daniel Siani is based Melbourne, we always enjoy getting a perspective from a different part of the country. Daniel was born in Australia to Italian immigrants, when he was a baby they made the decision to move back to Italy where they stayed until moving back again to Australia when he was 16. Since then he has continued to go back and forth between Italy and Australia. These experiences have given Daniel a unique perspective on what it means to be 'Italian Australian'.
We chatted about some of the differences between Italy and Australia and also the differences in the Italian immigrants who came to Australia in the post war years compared with those who have come in the recent years.
