Today’s guest is Dr. Todd Shackelford. Dr. Shackelford is an Evolutionary Psychologist. He’s a distinguished professor at Oakland University in Michigan where he is currently serving as chair. He’s an APA fellow and the editor in chief of the academic journals Evolutionary Psychology and Evolutionary Psychology Science. His research focuses on sexual psychology and behavior with a special focus on sexual conflict between men and women. Today we talk about the testability of evolutionary hypotheses. We talk about sex differences in the work force, in school, and in society more generally. We talk about whether he thinks we evolved to be monogamous. We talk about the male gaze and the female display. We talk about mate preferences. And a bunch of other stuff, it was a lot of fun. So, here is Dr. Shackelford.
