    Episode 5... It's starting to get serious.


    This week we have a special guest Dr. Ted Naiman. Dr. Ted is a primary care doctor outside of Seattle Washington and a leader in the health and nutrition space. These two things don't typically go together. Dr. Ted admits that his traditional schooling and training left him ill-prepared for an exceedingly, sick, fat and unhealthy US population. Thankfully through experience and some powerful interactions with clients he was able to open his mind to the powerful effects of proper diet and nutrition.


    In this episode we explore that journey and what he's learned on the other side of it, culminating in his book "The P.E. Diet". Dr. Ted has learned and preaches the importance of protein satiety in overall food choice and selection. He also is huge advocate of simple, smart and efficient resistance training. Diet, exercise (resistance training and cardio) along with daily movement make up the foundation of the most effective tools we have for health and longevity.


    I would highly recommend giving him a follow (all socials are @tednaiman) and buying his book "The P.E. Diet" (HERE), to learn how to take control of your health and wellness!

    Dr. Sean Preuss joins me on the show this week to discuss... A LOT! Sean has an EdD (like a PhD, but way cooler) in exercise science from UNC-Greensboro and has held a variety of high level jobs in the fitness industry. He's one of the leading minds in exercise science and a true advocate of an evidence based approach to exercise.


    In this episode we discuss some common myths in fitness. Heavy weights versus light weights for tone and bulk, machines versus free-weights and strength training versus stretching for increasing range of motion. This episode is a MUST listen if you have dogmatic beliefs around anything involving exercise. Be prepared to have your foundation ROCKED!

    Jay Vincent is the founder and owner of the "Golden Era Physique System". Based out of Tampa, Florida, Jay is one of the leading voices in the High Intensity Training and Evidence Based Fitness space. He's also one of the few in the niche that also has the physique to back up the claims.


    Jay is a former fitness model for brands like Under Armor, and now he specializes in helping men achieve their dream physiques with just a fraction of the time of traditional fitness programs.


    In this episode we discuss a ton of different fitness industry BS. Unfortunately the fitness industry is filled with charlatans and snake oil salesmen. Jay has been around for a long time, and we discuss his experience with some of the biggest myths and misconceptions in the industry compared to what the research and practical experience actually shows.
