Science increasingly shows that we have far less control over our weight and body shape than society wants us to believe. Yet people labeled as “overweight” are often ridiculed, dismissed, and denied basic respect. While some claim fatphobia is hardwired into human nature, its roots are more recent—and more surprising—than you might expect. This week, Adam speaks with Cornell philosopher Kate Manne, author of Unshrinking: How to Face Fatphobia, about the origins and consequences of anti-fat bias—and what it will take to dismantle it. I was growing tired of listening to the same audio books over and over - and forgetting to renew my library card so I could indulge in new books. I enjoyed watching Adam on TV, so I chose this channel and this episode as a start. Very interesting topic, as well as informative. The titles of the cohorts has always confused me.

I've been meaning to leave my review here. This is just a really excellent and well produced podcast. Adam asks such fantastic questions to all his expert guests and really keeps good conversation flowing. I really wish I myself could have a conversation with Adam. His passion for politics and getting the facts right is inspiring and I love learning about all the different topics he covers. This podcast also introduced me to Contrapoints so like, extra stars for that. It's just a really great podcast and I also love the monologues too. It's very cathartic to hear how fired up Adam gets about current events. And so many of the guests are just great sounding people with wonderful thoughts and ideas

Fantastic Political and Educational Podcast
