LOOK OUT! It’s only Films To Be Buried With! A REWIND CLASSIC!

Join your host Brett Goldstein as he talks life, death, love and the universe with the wonderful and hilarious SAM RICHARDSON!

This Rewind is from June 21st 2023, originally episode 253, and a really great one as you'll very likely have been treated to more work from Sam in the time since he appeared on here. It was a delight, and below is the original writeup - please enjoy!

    –––––––––––––––––––––––––

A bright and breezy treat of an episode here as Brett and Sam catch up and get amongst it with ease. If you're somehow unfamiliar with Sam's work, you can get up to speed on shows like Veep, I Think You Should Leave, The After Party 2, Ted Lasso and Detroiters - but even if you're not all caught up on things you'll love this one. You'll hear all about run-ins with tech guys, the niceness of the improv community, the A-B-Cs of a smooth ride on set, growing up in Ghana and Detroit, and how in the hell cruise ship improv works. THE ANSWER MAY SURPRISE YOU. A lovely one, enjoy!

LOOK OUT! It’s only Films To Be Buried With! A REWIND CLASSIC!

Join your host Brett Goldstein as he talks life, death, love and the universe with the absolute FTBBW show idol and long term love KYLE MacLACHLAN!

This Rewind is from January 31st 2024, not so far back in time, originally episode 284, featuring someone very dear to not only all of our hearts, but especially Brett's - Kyle MacLachlan, or as some of you will know from one of his roles in particular, Special Agent Dale Cooper. But let's not limit Kyle to the world of Twin Peaks, for he has been on screens big and small and stage too fo decades, and there will be so many stops along the way where you will have come into contact with his unique work. Kyle is someone who we are so fortune to have with us and even hearing Brett give him his flowers on this episode is just such a joy. I'm sure we all vicariously do the same in listening.

This episode was recorded about a year before the death of David Lynch, a celebrated and treasured film maker who truly left a legacy of classic, undeniable and groundbreaking films and television. You'll likely be aware of how much Kyle worked with David, and have seen the results yourself. You can hear how much love and respect there is for David in this podcast, from both Kyle and Brett, and this episode is dedicated to David's memory and legacy.

    Rest in peace, David Lynch. January 20, 1946 - January 16, 2025.

You may have been newly acquainted to Bill via his incredible show 'Barry' (link below), which will surely be drawing more and more people in as word spreads. But you may be very well acquainted with Bill already through his hugely varied and awesome career involving tons of films, shows, and Saturday Night Live among more bits and pieces. So it's a treat to hear he and Brett kick it on the subject of everything up to now, including career highlights, process, his 'life sizzle-reel', wisdom, films that you may not have heard of, and so much more besides. I've been enjoying Brett Goldstein's performance in Ted Lasso and was intrigued by his podcast.

An extra thrill was hearing that Edgar Wright liked The Ruins, a horror movie I worked on!

Interesting people discussing interesting movies!

I love this podcast. Brett Goldstein is funny and kind and sooooooo interesting. plus he's Roy Kent! I discovered films that I've never heard of and rediscovered films I had forgotten about. Take a listen. You won't regret it.

The Fall (2006). The scene with the pills and later with the monkey. Full on ugly, cathartic, sobbing, hyperventilating tears. I had never even heard the name Lee Pace, and now every time I see him play an elf king or a blue Ronan, I feel like he's being wasted. (And this coming from someone who loves elf kings and the MCU.)

Love this podcast. It's delightful in all the ways the Office is not.

The movie that made me sob cry...
