    Jan 18 2024
When up-and-coming young rapper Koh is discovered on a live Twitch stream and sent out to Los Angeles to follow his dreams, he is quickly thrown to the wolves by producers, agents, and money-hungry industry hangers-on. Soon he meets the sexy and talented songwriter Jessi Fyre, and he tells her about his desire to work with a relatively unknown producer whose identity remains a secret but goes by the moniker "Pierre." When Jessi realizes she can help Koh by revealing who Pierre is, she does. The problem is, Pierre is the alter-ego of NBA star JaVale McGee. And JaVale has no interest in revealing his Pierre alter-ego to the public for fear of not being taken seriously in the music industry. To make matters even more complicated, JaVale is currently in Tokyo for the Olympics where he is playing basketball for Team USA. With Koh’s opportunities running low, songwriting deals on the table, and no idea how he’ll get to Tokyo, he has to decide how he can "Find Pierre" and save his career. With freestyles, late nights in Roppongi, and Team USA struggling to get past the first round of Olympic competition, Finding Pierre is a hip-hop musical adventure that spans the globe and hopefully ends with some dreams coming true.

A Decent Listen, But Fell Short in Some Areas

I recently listened to "Finding Pierre" by Jared Gutstadt on Audible and have mixed feelings about it. The story itself was engaging and had some intriguing moments that kept me hooked. The concept of the podcast was unique and had potential.

However, I felt that the execution could have been better. The pacing seemed a bit off at times, and I found myself losing interest in certain parts of the story. Additionally, some of the characters lacked depth and development, which made it hard for me to fully connect with them.

On the positive side, the production quality was top-notch, and the narration was well done. The music and sound effects added to the overall atmosphere of the podcast, enhancing the listening experience.

In conclusion, "Finding Pierre" is a decent listen for those interested in mystery and suspense, but it fell short in some areas for me. I would recommend it to fans of the genre, but with the caveat that it may not meet everyone's expectations.

Ok overall. Not my cup of tea

This was okay overall. Just not for me. Also-Perhaps adding an explicit language warning when the content demands it would be wise.
