About this listen
Hello Friend, Bob Perry here. Lord, times are complex, but we will trust in you and stand firm in Christ. Thank you for being here for us when fear threatens our resolve. We pray, Lord, that your will be done, because we know that you love us and that your will is best. We ask for your divine guidance as we walk in forgiveness.
Thank you for showing us how to live. Jesus, you demonstrated the power of granting forgiveness. You are our model, excellent Jesus. You forgave the people who put you on the cross, saying, "Father, forgive them, for they don't know what they are doing." Your act of forgiveness inspires and motivates us to follow in your footsteps.
Amazing love hung you on the cross, and when you chose not to lash out, you displayed strength, and courage. You often taught that forgiveness is a key factor in bringing about supernatural intervention that allows for answered prayers. Jesus, you preached this truth, and at that moment on the cross, you lived it.
What a powerful message for generations, Lord Jesus. Papa God, we can see today that seeking revenge and holding onto hatred and resentment perpetuates a generational cycle of pain, regret, and curses. This cycle continues to inflict the same hurt and suffering across generations. The principle of "an eye for an eye" is not the higher law that Jesus demonstrated on the cross for us.
Thank you, Jesus, for living inside us. With the Holy Spirit, our divine helper, we choose to walk in forgiveness. The Holy Spirit guides and empowers us on this journey. You taught that forgiveness is not only a choice; it is a powerful tool that reflects the heart of Papa's love and disrupts the cycle of hurt and pain. It is a transformative act, the right choice that changes circumstances. It is a kairos moment of God's power to turn things around and break the cycle of resentment.
Jesus, you chose forgiveness and offered it freely. Your desire is for us to do the same. Amen.
In closing, let me share Jesus' words on forgiveness from the Gospel of Matthew. When the Apostle Peter asked, "Master, how often should I forgive a brother or sister who hurts me? Seven times?" Jesus replied, "Seven! Hardly. Try seventy times seven."
Oh my, help us, Lord. Grant us grace to forgive ourselves and others.
