  • Laura Brown is a feminist trauma psychologist who practices psychotherapy and forensic psychology in Seattle and has published extensively on topics related to trauma treatment, feminist practice, cultural competence, ethics, and LGBT concerns.

    Laura founded, and until June 2015, directed, the Fremont Community Therapy Project, a low-fee psychotherapy training clinic in Seattle. She has authored or edited fifteen professional books including the award-winning Subversive Dialogues: Theory in Feminist Therapy as well as more than 150 other professional publications, and have been featured in six psychotherapy training videos.

    Laura is also a late-in-life student of aikido, in which she holds the rank of Nidan, or 2nd degree black belt.
