    May 6 2025

Over the next two months (give or take) I’d like to do something different. The Cul de Sac is a novel I’ve been working on for the last six or so years and I’ve come to realize that there is no better place to share it than right here, where we all adore strange little towns, quirky neighbors and demonic infestation.

So let’s head to Woodland Hills, a fictional town just a hop skip and a jump from Wellesley. After suffering a harrowing break in, Mae is desperate to leave her apartment in the city. Her husband, Tom, is dead set on a fixer-upper in a snobby little New England town just outside of Boston. The neighbors are fabulously quirky, the house has potential, and Mae is too traumatized to pay attention to the red flags lining their path to the cul de sac.

Told several chapters at a time, the story begins right here May 13th.

This podcast just hits all the right spots. Wonderful voice, unpretentious narration like you were listening to a friend tell you a story. Great characters and a real world feel, but actually creepy as heck. I hope it continues, and it would make a stellar tv show!!!

Relistening so many times!

I stumbled on Liz Sower’s podcast looking for some real ghost stories. I’ve been binging it for several days and have only made it half way thru. I’m hooked. These stories are like the scary stories I used to ask my mom to repeat. I’ve definitely been spooked listening to these but I just can’t get enough!

Scary stories like my Mexican Catholic Momma Told Me

There are a ton of "Scary" Podcasts out there, the majority of which are over dramatic, take themselves way too seriously and completely over exaggerate things. This Podcast is a rare gem in that it is not over done. It sounds completely natural, not forced and authentic.

So Rare! Thank You!

I can’t stop listening to Liz’s podcast. Another listener said it perfectly-I feel like I am hanging out with a fantastically funny and goofy friend while getting spooked out of my wits! Liz makes me laugh and I wish I could meet her. But here I am in Idaho. Sigh.

I am obsessed

Loved this and I totally agree, I once had a little girl bring a ouiji board to my daughters bday party, I made her take it home, her mother was a bit put out

I don’t do OutKast’s😱

Ghosts in the Burbs strikes a unique balance between eerie and comforting. The show focuses on paranormal experiences in suburban areas, particularly highlighting people who live in haunted houses. Liz’s storytelling style is engaging and approachable, making even the creepiest tales feel cozy and relatable. It's like hearing ghost stories from a trusted friend over a cup of tea—there's suspense and chill-inducing moments, but also an underlying warmth and familiarity that makes you feel at ease.

The people in Ghosts in the Burbs often live in these big, luxurious homes, and many of them come across as very well-off. It’s almost like the contrast between their seemingly perfect, glossy suburban lives and the creepy, unsettling supernatural experiences they have adds another layer of intrigue. The polished, affluent setting makes the haunting feel even more surreal—like these are places where everything should be pristine and ideal, yet something darker lurks beneath the surface.

Binge and repeat!

I have not found a podcast to date that I love more that GiTB. Liz is an amazing storyteller and writer. If you enjoy ghost stories and cryptids with a slight touch of drama, this is the podcast for you. I feel like I'm hanging out with a friend who is catching me up on their life, just with ghosts.

One of my all time favorite podcasts
