About this listen

Self-help feels like a bit of a dumpster fire, doesn't it?

Whether you've binged every self-help book out there or are just getting started in your journey – Go Help Yourself is your source for calling bullsh*t on toxic positivity, turning your existential dread into actual growth, and getting it together without losing your soul (or sense of humor) in the process.

Misty loves self-help and is earnestly trying to improve her life, while Lisa hates anyone telling her what to do. Together, we bring a much-needed critical eye (and healthy dose of humor) to the wildly-unregulated world of self-help, sharing what we learn along the way.

Because we believe that, even though life is hard, personal development doesn’t have to be.

Welcome to your podcast to make life suck less!

  • Why I've Never Liked Self-Help with Josiah Jenkins

On this episode of Go Help Yourself, Lisa and Misty are joined by special guest Josiah Jenkins to talk about his experience with self-help -- particularly why he has never liked it. Josiah's thoughtful answers lead us into a lovely conversation about why self-help is not for everyone -- and perhaps, why it shouldn't be.

I absolutely adore these ladies, they have genuinely helped me manage parts of my life that felt so overwhelming before just by reading and summarizing books! lol they are so funny and detail oriented when it comes to the actual skills and coping mechanisms that are being displayed in the books and even follow through with some of the homework attached to these books and review how helpful it was whilst providing said homework on the podcast!! they have genuinely changed my life and I will continue to recommend these hilarious ladies to anyone who feels they need a lil boost or help in their lives 💕 keep that shit up ladies!!
