  • HUL had a 41% market share of detergents in 1975 and by 1987, their share dipped to just 7%. Nirma went from 12% in 1977 to 62% in 1987.

    And by 2002, HUL and Nirma had equal shares of 38% ; imagine that from 1987 when HUL as at 7%.
