Abigail was the first deaf contestant within the Bachelor franchise and has been a representative for the deaf/hearing loss community. Abigail recently released her book, The Deaf Girl, in which she discusses growing up deaf and a cochlear implant user along with her sister, navigating school, work, relationships and television while utilizing a cochlear implant, and discovering her identity as both "The Deaf Girl" and "Abigail".
