    The 2019 Division 1 State Baseball Championship was one for the ages. Two of the powerhouse programs in the state met for a title. Eau Claire North led 2-0, but gave up four unanswered runs to Sun Prairie through the top of the sixth to fall behind 4-2. In the bottom of the sixth, the Huskies began their rally with two outs and nobody on, eventually getting to state baseball and hockey player of the year in Wisconsin, Sam Stange, who launched a 400-foot home run to right-center to put Eau Claire North up 5-4 on the Cardinals, which would be the final score in this all-time classic.   • BB: Waunakee vs. Eau Claire North (2018)

    The very first game of the 2018 WIAA State Baseball Championships featured Waunakee and Eau Claire North in a Division 1 quarterfinal. Waunakee got out to a 5-0 lead, which Eau Claire North rallied back from to tie at 5-5 in the 4th inning. After five innings, it was 7-7. Waunakee's five-run bottom-of-the-sixth put the Warriors up 12-7, enough to hold on and defeat the Huskies 12-8, with the tying run at the plate in the top of the seventh inning.     The 2017 Division 4 State Football Championship paired up a defending champion (St. Croix Central) against a senior-laden upstart (Lodi) seeking its first-ever football title. Both teams featured outstanding running games; St. Croix Central's vaunted triple-option against Lodi's prolific rusher, Jacob Heyroth.
