We started from the bottom, and now we're here: THE SEASON FINALE!

At the time of typing this, I cannot confirm nor deny that History & Game will be back for a fourth season. So, with that in mind, I decided to go out with a firecracker full of optimism, perseverance, and confidence. If this is my last message to you, the listener, I wanted to make it a good one.

History is filled with dark and terrible times, but through you, my listeners, I have given you a beautiful story that will make you think of the better times and smile. Because stories are powerful tools that can influence not only the world but also the people in it.

"History & Game doesn't just throw your high school history class and a Tom Vasel video into a blender and call it a day." Well, hello there again, friends! It's been a while. Unfortunately, I managed to contact H3N2 (the older brother of the H1N1 virus.) So, not only has my social life taken a hit, but my podcast productivity has as well. I want to give an extra special shout-out to those who take time out of their day to listen to my DIY podcast. That's awesome. My hat is off to you!- whoever you are, and wherever you are. Anyway... Let's get to it.

With only one more episode left in the third season, this week's episode plays around with the how - and why - humans have searched for solace in a comforting lie over a painful truth. In this episode of History & Game, we learn about the power of the "bromance," A story full of rebels and insurrectionists, The sadness when you're stricken ill for a prolonged people and manage NOT to lose a single shred of weight?! When getting sick doesn't even drop you a few pounds; the universe has robbed us of one of the simplest joys in life. Also, we weigh the pros and cons of narrative-driven campaign games.

Again, I appreciate checking out my podcast. I hope you enjoy it. And hey, don't be a stranger!

    Thanks for listening!

  • What is History & Game: An Intermission
    Oct 14 2023

Hi guys! Welcome to another episode of History & Game. Recently, I realized that when I "pitch" the podcast to new people, I have an easy time talking it up as a unique podcast unlike anything else. However, I have a difficult time describing exactly what the podcast is, what the episodes are like, and why it's worth their time.

So, in this episode of History & Game, I swap the show structure with a deeper explanation that answers the question: Just exactly what is History & Game? and why should I care? If you are new to the show, then I highly recommend this episode as a starting point.

If you are a fan of the show, you deserve an intermission. But I know that your completist voice forbids you from missing a single episode. Enjoy!

  • The Relationship And The Curtain
    Sep 28 2023

    Hello, friends, listeners, and well-wishers.

This episode of History & Game offers two distinct stories: An informal and personal story from my past (the relationship) and a formal story from history over the course of 46 years (the curtain).

And because History & Game doesn't just throw your high school history class and a Tom Vasel video into a blender and call it a day, both stories explore the concept of historical determinism through its significance and application while simultaneously challenging its very existence!
