prevatican ii reform of the calendar and lectionary still has the passion read on palm Sunday. the triumphant entrance is oriented to the cross of the messiah, no? Passion Sunday, the Sunday before, had the gospel confrontation bw Jesus and the Jews ending "and he hid himself from them", which is part of the spirituality of hiding the statues.
