At just 12 years old, Jacob Garrett escaped a mass shooting at a movie theater in Aurora, Colorado. More than a decade later, he came to Youth on Record to share his journey—through both conversation and music.

    In this powerful episode, Jacob reflects on how the trauma of that night reshaped his life, his relationships, and his sense of self. His words, woven together with his music, paint a vivid picture of survival, resilience, and the lasting impact of trauma.
