    We decided to have an emergency pod because the International Man of Mystery, Alfie at last appears to talk about Towcester Under 7s. Harry does a great update too. Meanwhile, Claire and Lis talk about England’s woes but we do wish the Saints lads well.


    We celebrate Elliot Millar-Mills new contract. We also, talk about our trip to see training where again we witnessed the whole squad preparing together for the game against Nottingham.


    Earlier in the day, Lis and Claire visited Dallington Cemetery to pay their respects to Saint #867 Sgt George Parker. Claire tells the story of how this Saintsman’s story was found.

  • Ladies Wot Pod Episode 46 - The Premiership Rugby Cup begins with a Saints win in the East Midlands Derby

    Where Lis and Claire talk about the start of the Premiership Rugby Cup - the Saints started with a comfortable win against in the East Midlands Derby. We saw the next generation of players start confidently, playing a brand of rugby which was instantly recognisable as Saints. Both Lis and Claire celebrate that so many made their debuts and so many played so well.


    We have our first live tasting as we have received our first baked goods.


    We also, do the usual items such as choosing our Ladies Wot Pod player of the match and Sgt Wilson award for Outstanding Referee Engagement. We say farewell to our departing CEO, Mark Darbon. And we look forward to our new CEO, Julia Chapman taking over.

  • Ladies Wot Pod Episode 45 - A young Saints team battle hard in the west but fall just short

    Where Lis and Claire talk about the trip to Ashton Gate where the Saints youngsters did us proud including one young fly half who had a cracking debut but the lights were as expected awful and despite battling hard we came away with nothing. Lis get’s drawn into the story of the Boston Red Sox in 2004 as Claire identified who she thinks could be Saints’ Kevin Millar. We look forward to the Premiership Rugby Cup as Leicester are coming to the Gardens on Friday. And we have a cracking report from Harry and a glimpse of Alfie. Meanwhile, we continue to bump into listeners to the pod in strange places!

  • Ladies Wot Pod Episode 44- Of Saints and Lightning wins against Sale and Bedford Blues Ladies Day

    Where Lis and Claire talking about a great weekend of rugby where all three of our teams won and Towcester had a great time training. We start with the fabulous win under the lights where Saints produced a scintillating half of rugby followed by Claire getting one of her favourite celebration photos in the second half. We talk cake and pikelettes as Lis has done an important delivery. We name our LWP Player of the Match (rightly we recognise a fine young player!) and we name our Sgt Wilson award for outstanding engagement with the referee winner - a first time for a young player in the pack.


    We applaud Lightning’s first win and we talk Ladies Day at Bedford Blues which was a great win followed by a lot of fun at the auction. Harry does a great report from Towcester. It’s a packed episode as usual!

  • Ladies Wot Pod Episode 43- Talking Welford Rd & Rugby League Finals with special guest Pete Nuttall

    Where Lis and Claire are joined by Saints’ PA announcer Pete Nuttall to talk about the weekend’s events. We have to talk about events at the roundabout, we do name our Ladies Wot Pod Player of the Match and Sgt Wilson Award for Outstanding engagement with the referee. Pete talks about how he came to be at the Gardens and how he regards it as home. His love of rugby league and being the voice of the Grand Final. In fact he walkabout being a voice seemingly everywhere but not necessarily the same voice! We talk about Radders’ and who he would have supported at the weekend given the wrong Hull were playing and what greeted Hull KR fans when they returned home - ouch!


    We also talk about this weekend’s fare and both Saints and Lightning play Sale Sharks - Lis and Claire come up with the idea of defeating the kick tennis and Dupont’s Law by introducing Morris Dancing tactics. We talk Saints new lightship which is back!


    And Lis talks about her recent meeting with Mark Darbon on behalf of the Saints Supporters Club and what Mark might expect when Lis next plays on the Himalayas at St Andrews!
