    Sep 12 2024

This week is a Saints Show Ladies Wot Pod mashup as Graham, Lennie, Claire and Lis preview this season. We pick the players, games and places we’re looking forward to going to. It was great fun recording this pod at BBC Radio Northampton’s studios. Lennie and Graham were on top form and we had a great discussion about the coming months.

We also, talk about all the usual stuff and we had a very special interview with Harry about his latest try for Towcester. Claire becomes quite emotional about a very special gift from the Wheelchair Rugby team. We talk about walking rugby, Halos, as well as Bedford, Loughborough and a preview of this week.

We send our very best wishes to Emma Wassell - here’s hoping you’re back at the Gardens very soon.

  • Ladies Wot Pod Episode 37 - The Lizzies Wot Pod - the Northampton Saints Team and Media Managers explain all
    Sep 8 2024

Where Claire and Lis talk to Liz Tyler and Lizzie Goodchild. These two women play a key role in making sure things run smoothly for the players and coaches. Liz is the Team Media manager who works closely with the press whilst Lizzie is the Team manager managing the logistics of the players and on match day gets the joy of sitting in the weather, working with the officials and opposition team.

It’s a fascinating insight into a world that most supporters never see. We learn about medals and who gets them (including which player is keen for his to arrive), we hear trauma for both Liz and Jack Miller during that Final, Lis and I learn what those Investec Zebras are actually called. And we learn of a Towcester connection between Lizzie and Harry!

And Lis tells us how her walking rugby coaching is going - is she more Northern?!

We learn about the coaching culture at the Saints which challenges Matt as much as the players. This episode features a lot of cake, hats and Matt offers advice to us and the pod for the coming season. The IT Dept is in for a shock!

And we name our Ladies Wot Pod Player of the Match from the Bedford Blues vs Blackheath game - and it's a Blues player!

Meanwhile, the season has started for Towcester Under 10s, about to start for the Under 7s and Lis is still fretting about the shape of her walking rugby D. Matt comes up with an idea for that too!
