This week, we explore the "difficult subject" of forgiveness and why it's a power move. We've all been hurt by others, and often we desire justice or punishment. However, holding onto resentment "ends up causing us bitterness and anger", controls our actions, can even cause physical problems, and becomes a chain that binds us to the offender. "By not forgiving people, we're actually... that's what we have left to try and hurt them", but in reality, the one who suffers is us.

Forgiveness is not waiting for an apology; it's "something which we need to initiate". It is a choice, it's not a feeling. We can forgive others for what they've done because our Father in heaven has forgiven us through Jesus Christ. Choosing to forgive means coming to God in prayer, releasing the person from punishment, and handing the hurt over to God. Forgiving others releases us from the weight and brings freedom. Being able to bless the person can be a sign that you have forgiven them.
