  • Prepping a French Workshop (with Sonia!) 🇫🇷🏫
    Jun 3 2025

Bonjour and welcome to the 9th episode of Le Petit Podcast – your weekly (well, sometimes biweekly... okay, monthly 😅) dose of French! I know many of you enjoy the show, and I’m committed to bringing you new episodes more regularly.

In this episode, I’m once again joined by Sonia, and we’ve got our work cut out for us! We’re preparing a special workshop to introduce French language and culture to children at Sofia’s school.

Unlike previous episodes, which were a bit more scripted, this time Sonia and I are taking a more spontaneous approach — you're joining us as we brainstorm and plan the workshop in real time.

We’ve got 48 hours before the big day. Let's go!

  • “Le Polar de Papa” – Une Conversation Cinéphile en Famille 🎬
    May 15 2025

Welcome to a very special episode of my podcast — one that’s close to my heart. In this episode, we take a deep, personal dive into the world of French polar — those dark, moody crime films that blend existential tension with gritty police drama and unforgettable characters.

But this isn’t just a lesson in vocabulary or film history. Today, I’m joined by someone very special: mon papa.

My father is a true cinéphile, a lifelong lover of le polar français. Together, we explore the directors who shaped his cinematic world. We revisit his all-time favorite films like Le Cercle Rouge, Le Deuxième Souffle — stories of quiet criminals, doomed friendships, and smoky streets at midnight.

This episode is a deeply personal conversation about how cinema becomes a language of its own between generations. It’s about storytelling, memory, and how sharing a film can mean sharing a piece of yourself.

So sit back, tune in, and let us take you through the rain-soaked alleys of French noir, guided by a father’s passion — and his child’s curiosity.

  • A French Couple Abroad: First Flights, Language Barriers & Laughter
    Apr 21 2025

Welcome to the 7th episode of Le Petit Podcast

    - In English 🇬🇧
In today's episode, I have the pleasure of introducing you to two dear friends of mine, Manue and Mathieu, who came all the way from my hometown in Lorraine, France, to share a few days (and stories) with us.

After many takes, I finally decided to publish this version… because, full disclosure: we recorded this episode after an aperitif and got a little carried away 🥳 — between catching up, laughing, and a few slips of the tongue. But that’s what makes it real, right?

We talk about the challenges of traveling without speaking the language, how children learn foreign languages so naturally, and how these little adventures can open the door to new dreams — like exploring more of the world.

So sit back, enjoy the laughter, and don’t mind the occasional fork of the tongue. And if you missed the last episode about how ChatGPT can become your French learning companion, I warmly invite you to give it a listen right after this one. 😉🤘

    - In French 🇫🇷
