In “Bringing a Vision to Life,” BWEL, Inc. Founder and Visionary Dr. Latrese D. Younger discusses how BWEL was born from a place of her own need for community and sisterhood, the importance of staying authentic in the work of educational leadership, and leading with a servant’s heart.
Dr. Latrese D. Younger has seventeen years of education experience across several different school districts. She is the present content curator for and founder of the non-profit, Black Women Education Leaders, Inc. (BWEL). She has served as an English Language Arts teacher, Literacy Coach, Assistant Principal, Data and Assessment Analyst, and is currently a state School Improvement Specialist. In this episode, Dr. Latrese shares her “why” for starting BWEL, some of her personal experiences, and her hopes for the organization's expanded impact.
