Here’s what you missed last week

You may have seen him on booktok, the bachelor or even the footy field. We spoke to Luke Bateman about his two new fantasy books. He tells all about how he got into it.

Last weekend, the all-so successful LifeFlight Gala had raised over $1 Million dollars with a lifechanging contribution from Clive Berghofer. We spoke to the Regional Advisory Committee Chair for the Darling Downs, Emily O’Sullivan.

Hang Ya Boss Out to Dry, Mark Munro comes on air to advocate for supporting Toowoomba Hospice. 6-9am on Friday 6th June. Register now to go and put the fun in fundraising. Gus Romero, Harvey Norman Computers Toowoomba, is one boss that is being sent up and not allowed back down until he receives donations. Hear how Gus feels and if he nominates someone to join him.

Linda Cause, the town dog whisperer talks on the last million paws walk held by the RSPCA as well as how, as dog owners, we should train our pooches before they get too big.

Luke Thomas, butcher from Millers Gourmet Meats, heads off to the World Butcher Wars competition, being held at the Royal Ascot Racecourse in London on July 5-6th, as part of the Smoke and Fire Festival. Butchers will have 30 minutes to prepare a display of retail-ready products from a side of lamb and a saddle of pork.

Colin Dorber from Lockyer Valley Foods has solved a common problem – burning ourselves when we cook the onions for out snags. Lockyer Valley Foods and Lions club have created a pre-made onion sauce, and not just one, but a choice. The first one is plain in white vinegar and the second is plain in balsamic vinegar.

Topical Topics, again, was a hit this week with Tafe Qld’s Kate Venables and Paula Hughes. They tackled the stereotypes associated with teachers and better promoting the profession to males, as well as debating whether it is rude to wear your headphones in public/social settings or not, and possibly confessing…

Thanks to Harvey Norman Computers Toowoomba, Liam Wacker from St Stephens Primary School in Pittsworth, was given the chance to win his school $1000 by presenting what to expect for the day, ‘weather’ it’s rain or shine.
