Yokohama is a tremendous metropolitan area in the land of the Rising Sun. More so is the night life associated with it. Mutt Red Dot has been monumental to great party experiences in this particular area in Japan over the years. 6 years to be exact since the last collaborated event took place involving the homie, so it's about time I believe for the ultimate "Birthday Bash" at the Velvet Nightclub on April 30, 2022.

  • Episode 5 "DJ City Japan 10th Anniversary Tour" Part 2
    May 25 2021
In part two of the DJ City Japan 10th Anniversary Tour, we went on the road to Osaka! One of the most populous cities in Japan! It wasn't the first time I had been there, but it was an awesome time. I speak on the process of me getting booked for the tour in general, how we made it down to the south of Japan, and even offer a little history on Kabuki Theater, and what types of attractions and/or food is popular in Osaka. Of course, I get into the actual party, which was held at Club Piccadilly (a former Kabuki Theater). A beautiful venue that no doubt was an excellent place to have such a celebration. Another long night was ahead of us, but that didn't stop us all from having a great time, putting on a fantastic show, and creating some epic party moments before the Yakiniku wrap up after party! Enjoy!

  • Episode 6 "BMO Music Fest 2010"
    Mar 31 2021
おはよう☀️everyone 👍 Search “Emcee Ricky” on YouTube, Apple & Google Podcasts, Spotify or IHeartRadio to catch my latest episode of the Life of the Party Podcast!
In episode 6, I'm talking about the BMO Music Fest 2010, which happened back in October of 2010. After co-hosting the previous year, I was ready for the opportunity to do so again. I was coming off a solid year with my promotion group, and was part of some of the hottest parties and/or events in both the Yokohama and Tokyo Metropolitan areas leading up to the special event. I was able to get a sense of what to expect as far as the west side music demographic, after being part of an event at Yokohama Bay Hall that featured the likes of Too Short and E40. The line-up for this years BMO Music Fest included the legendary Snoop Dogg, Fabolous, KC & JoJo, Trina, Lloyd, Guerilla Zoe & Fabo from D4L. Unfortunately, both Snoop Dogg and Fabolous didn't end up making the concert, which disappointed many in attendance. From my perspective, I give thoughts on the situation and what I experienced. Still, the show must go one right? It did, and I did the best I could to keep people entertained in between the artists performances. The artists themselves went out of their way to engage with the crowds of people before, during, and after the concert wrapped up at Zepp Tokyo, so that undoubtedly provided and solidified some fond memories over the years. Hope you enjoy the episode, and thank you for tuning in!

  • Life of the Party Podcast Presents "Jurassic Park Talk" w/ Emcee Ricky
    Mar 4 2021
There are a number of movies that caught my attention growing up overseas in Japan; Jurassic Park, which came out in the Summer of 1993 is one of them. In this special Life of the Party Podcast Presents episode, I go back to "The Beginnings" and talk about seeing this feature film for the first time on a military base after waiting months for it to get there. I then go into a pretty simple synopsis of the film, (SPOILERS, but is it possible to spoil this movie in 2021...lol) giving my takes on certain points throughout, no doubt touching on the awesome package of a film it was and still is today. I'm just having fun and talking about a film that would go on to span 4 sequels so far, with Jurassic World: Dominion slated to be released in 2022. It all started with the original Jurassic Park which to date has grossed well over a billion dollars! There are some other movies I'll touch on as I continue my episodic adventure of the Life of the Party Podcast, but once again thank you for listening and/or watching. I hope you enjoy my take on this awesome experience director Steven Spielberg took us all on!

  • Episode 5 "DJ City Japan 10th Anniversary Tour" Part 1
    Jan 11 2021
This is the first of a three part series in which I talk about my experience as a host emcee for the DJ City Japan 10th Anniversary Tour. I've jumped forward in time to treat my 5th episode as a sort of milestone; I've met and worked and partied along side some talented people, especially on this particular tour, so why not speak on it from my unique perspective. Part 1 includes a brief background of what DJ City is, and how I got involved with the DJ City Japan representatives, before getting into the meat and potatoes of the episode. Two venues are spoken about, the first of which is Abemamix @ the Abema TV Studio in Shibuya, which featured a number of notable DJs for the Anniversary celebration. The line-up included former Red Bull 3Style DJ Japan Champions DJ Iku, 8man, Shintaro, Ren, B-Ball, You-Ki, Rina, & Fummy. I of course explain a bit about what the Red Bull 3 Style DJ Championships are, to include Abemamix, which is a popular interactive streaming program on Abema TV in Japan. The 2nd venue is the DJ Bar & Lounge, WREP, where the Kickoff Party was held after Abemamix. It was a long day and night on October 13, 2019, but it was well worth it! Abemamix ran from 1900 - 0000 with each DJ occupying a 35 - 40 min set, followed by the Kickoff Party at WREP, which followed the same dynamic, but was from 0000 - 0500. Thank you all for listening, subscribing and/or downloading. Remember, you can find the video portions of my podcast by searching "Emcee Ricky" on YouTube. Enjoy!

  • Episode 4 "BMO Music Fest. 2009"
    Dec 14 2020
In episode number 4, I talk about the BMO Music Fest. 2009, and how I was a host Emcee for the event along with a notable MC, Mass Tucker. The event happened on June 18, 2009. A welcome party w/ special guest Lil' Jon the night before kicked things off; I was also a host emcee for that event. The Music Fest. was held at Zepp Tokyo, a notable concert venue that holds over 2,500 people, and featured the likes of Shaggy, Omarion, Pitbull, Lil' Jon, T.O.K. J. Holiday, Sean Kingston, and Da Pump. This was a tremendous experience for myself, one that helped catapult me into positive standings within entertainment. The ultimate responsibility of engaging with the crowd, and having them ready for respective artists is something I will never forget. I also speak on how what was supposed to be a short intermission before Sean Kingston's performance turned into a type of halftime show for the crowd, with myself, Mass Tucker, a few dancers, and a DJ turning the venue into a club! There's a special guest in the video portion as well; my dog "Kiwi" pays a visit. • Episode 3 "Lets Get It Started"
    Nov 27 2020
Ohayo! In episode 3, I talk a bit about some of the notable venues I used to frequent in the Tokyo Metropolitan area from 02 - 08, like Club Harlem in Shibuya, and the fun behind the iconic venue, to include a unique story involving myself and a talented DJ. There are other venues I speak on like the extremely busy and packed full of people Club Nature on Saturdays in Roppongi, Warehouse 702 where I used to go very often on Wednesdays, going to 99 on Thursdays, which is from the Gaspanic chain of nightspots, and the infamous party Velfare in Roppongi, which is where I was first approached about party promotion. I then get into my first experience as an Emcee at Club B in Yokohama; that ultimately led to future gigs like hosting an Ashanti Concert in 2008, and being a party MC for Lil Jon in the same calendar year. This is just the tip of the iceberg, but I mention some people that helped me along the way during this particular timeframe as far as getting added exposure. I also get into my overall mentality of how I MC, and how I conduct myself with respect to others. Once again, thanks for tuning in and enjoy!
