  • Episode 5 - John Franzky - Part 2: Franzky's Garage
    Jun 22 2023

In part two, we grabbed our bikes and crossed the river to go scope out Franzky's Garage. Corey and I have both been there before, but this time was a little different. Franzky was ready for the onslaught of questions we were ready to unload about his collection of vintage mountain bikes.

Franzky graciously shares his stories of his collection including his first Ritchey, various trades and swaps with Bow Cycle friends/customers, and many other tales of steel tubes!

We also discuss bike polo, which Corey and Franzky play every Tuesday and is how Chris and Franzky met for the first time. We also chat about how great Calgary is but how it has changed throughout the years we have all lived here.

  • Episode 4 - John Franzky - Part 1: Bow Cycles E-Bikes
    Jun 16 2023

We would bet almost every Calgarian knows about Bow Cycle; not only because of the size of the shop and volume of bikes sold, but also because of the history that surrounds Bow Cycle and its Bowness location. However, this episode was recorded at Bow Cycle's newest location which specializes in E-Bikes. It is here where we sat down with John Franzky, one of the owners of Bow Cycle.

John shares some history of Bow Cycle including some of the more interesting projects that the shop has experimented with, like special edition bikes and cheeky branding. We also chat about the bike industry including more recent insights given the affects of Covid and ... you guessed it ... e-bikes.

After our chat at the Bow Cycle E-Bikes we hopped on bikes to head to John's garage which is adorned with dozens of vintage mountain bikes. A real bike nerds dream. Stay tuned for part 2.

Cam is the owner of The Inside Line, a mountain bike specialty shop in Calgary, Alberta. Corey and Chris sit down with Cam at the new location of The Inside Line just a few days after a grand re-opening party which saw the shop packed wall to wall with good folk, great tunes, and tasty beer and pizza.
During our time with Cam, we get to know more about his journey to opening up The Inside Line as well as his start in the industry. Cam and The Inside Line play a huge part in building community and we learn about the most recent project of helping groom trails on Moose Mountain for winter fatbiking!
Cam also gives us insight on his love of furry four-legged friends, his first bike, and the bike industry in general.
