Jimmy Butler scored 23 points and dished out seven assists, Terry Rozier pumped in 20 points and Tyler Herro added 19, leading the Heat beat the Detroit Pistons 106-98 in Miami.
Bam Adebayo scored 12 and grabbed 10 rebounds, and Jaime Jacques Jr. also scored 12 for Miami.
The Heat had to fight back from a double-digit deficit to overcome their lowest-scoring quarter of the season, as the Pistons held them to just 14 points in the quarter, with Herro and Rozoer shooting a combined 1-11 from the field, 0-7 from three.
The win was the perfect ending to a two-day event honoring Heat & NBA Legend Dwayne Wade. On the 21st anniversary of his 1st game, the Heat had a halftime ceremony honoring D-Wade, whose statue was unveiled Sunday, and who also had a street named after him next to the Kaseya Center.
Cade Cunningham scored 24 points for Detroit, 0-4 for the third time in the last five years. Tim Hardaway Jr.- son of Heat icon Tim Hardaway Sr.- scored 20, Jaden Ivey had 18 and Isaiah Stewart snared 15 rebounds for the Pistons.
Cunningham went 2 for 11 in the 2nd half as Detroit finished at 38% shooting.
Miami struggled again at home in the 3rd quarter, getting outscored 26-14 and shooting horribly. Orlando outscored Miami 39-18 in the third quarter of the season opener.
But Miami came out scorching in the 4th, scoring the first 12 points of the quarter, taking back the lead and keeping it the rest of the way.
Miami was again without Kevin Love, who has missed all three Heat games for personal reasons.
Miami hosts the hated New York Knicks on Wednesday night.
