About this listen

Welcome to "Love in the Mourning Podcast"- I'm Kathie and I am a lot. I am a grief educator/coach, speaker, author and widow. But I'm also a grandma, a mom, a friend, sister, daughter, dog mom, cat mom and a lover of life and people. I honour the experience of both life and death. This is a space for raw, real, and necessary conversations about grief, death, and all the sacred things we’re usually too scared to say out loud. Whether you're grieving, curious about what it means to die well, or just tired of tiptoeing around the hard stuff, you're in the right place. I'm so glad you are here.

Believe me this will be an unfiltered conversation.

We talk about grief, loss, love, planning for death (yes—even the unexpected kind), and finding beauty in the uncomfortable. It’s honest, it’s heartfelt, and sometimes—there’s dark humour, because grief can be brutal and hilarious in the same breath.

These are the conversations that help us understand, connect, and live with a little less fear.

    May 1 2025

Today I get the honour and privilege of speaking with my dear friend Sue who I met last year shortly after her husband of almost 40 years died. She made the bold move of coming to a virtual Grief Over Dinner. We connected deeply. She is honest, loving, smart, and insightful. She is grieving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend and works in a high pressure job. To know her is to love her for real.
