• Dangerous Hesitation: Did It Play A Role In An Officer's Murder
    Nov 19 2024

It's the season one finale of Lowe Expectations! Gary and Anthony tease season two coming in 2025 and banter about the election outcome. In addition they provide an update on the Daniel Penny manslaughter trial. Much of the episode is focused on the dumpster fire that is Chicago and how it's affecting the police officers who work there.

They highlight a public safety advisor in Chicago who makes over 100k per year but fails to keep her vehicle legal and has outstanding warrants.

They turn their main focus on the murder of Ofc. Enrique Martinez in Chicago and why the political landscape of this city caused him and other officers to hesitate on the traffic stop that cost him his life. Officers used to say they'd rather be judged by 12 then carried by 6 but that sentiment is changing. Many officers are finding themselves engaged in dangerous hesitation. Anthony highlights his own examples of hesitation and he and Gary discuss why it's so dangerous for officers.

  • A Justice System Adrift
    Oct 8 2024

**This episode contains mature subject matter**

Gary and Anthony are back behind the mics for episode 20! Gary starts the episode doing his best to offend drone pilots and questioning the "pilot" title they give themselves. They again talk about the border mess as the presidential election looms. But the main part of the episode is spent discussing two disturbing cases that show our justice system is adrift. The first is a case involving the alleged murder of a baby in South Carolina. The second is about a judge making a ruling which forces tax payers in Indiana to pay for sex change surgery of a violent murderer. This drives a conversation about the state of our justice system and at times it's promotion of evil. They question how we've drifted so far away from standards, where those standards come from, and why we can still have hope.

  • Ofc. Terrence Sutton Is Sentenced and Justice vs. Mercy
    Sep 24 2024

In this thought-provoking episode, Gary and Anthony tackle the pressing issue of juvenile crime in America. They explore the alarming cases of young offenders, including a 12-year-old car thief in Maryland and a tragic incident in Denver involving a juvenile shot during a car theft. The hosts delve into the root causes of juvenile delinquency, highlighting the impact of fatherless homes and societal failure to instill consequences.

The discussion also revisits the controversial case of Officer Terrence Sutton, who was charged with second-degree murder following a pursuit of a gang member in Washington, D.C. Despite his commendable service record, Sutton's conviction raises questions about the judicial system's treatment of law enforcement officers.

Throughout the episode, Gary and Anthony emphasize the importance of justice and consequences, drawing parallels to biblical truths. They argue that a shift in societal values, where justice is owed and mercy is given, is crucial for addressing both juvenile crime and broader criminal justice issues.

Tune in for an engaging and insightful conversation that challenges conventional views on crime, punishment, and the role of law enforcement in today's society.

  • A Follow-Up On Ofc. Marquette's Case And Murder Charges Against Ofc. Christopher Schurr
    Sep 10 2024

Anthony and Gary got some recent pushback about their breakdown of the charges against Decatur PD Officer Marquette. Did they get it wrong? They discuss the rumors and peripheral issues surrounding this case. Plus they dissect murder charges against Grand Rapids PD Officer Christopher Schurr. Ofc. Schurr was faced with an assaultive suspect who took his taser and was forced to make the decision to use deadly force to protect himself from serious bodily injury or death. That decision led to him being charged with murder. It also caused him and his department to be lambasted by a group of pastors. They bring their expertise and thoughts to another case involving murder charges against a police officer.

  • Butter Knife Protection, Abandoned Post, 30x30, and a Violent Foot Pursuit
    Aug 27 2024

In normal fashion this episode hits on several topics.

-Gary tells a story about using a butter knife as protection just in case a sociopath decided to try and kill him.

-A Secret Service agent allegedly left her post to nurse her baby which leads to discussion about concerning aspects about the 30x30 initiative. It sounds nice but is it really a good initiative for law enforcement?

-Anthony and Gary provide some context and expertise to a Chicago PD foot pursuit that ended violently. (https://www.chicagocopa.org/case/2024-0005768/)

Was it justified? Why is only some video made easily available? Does a bad outcome mean the use of force was excessive? They answer these questions and more.
