David and Dan are somewhat surprised to say that the Minnesota Twins took a game from the first-place Detroit Tigers, who looked every bit the part in this three-game series at Comerica Park. David is happy to see that the Twins took the first game and looked so good in doing so. Dan has a plan that would ensure Byron Buxton gets his rightful start in the All-Star Game. Both of them are underwhelmed by the Twins' catching tandem, and neither is totally confident that Rocco Baldelli knows that bunts are in fact allowed in baseball. The Minnesota Twins lose two and win two against the visiting Seattle Mariners, giving David and Dan some hope that this year's team, now halfway through the season, isn't without hope. They critique the performances by all four starting pitchers and question the choices of manager Rocco Baldelli more than the decisions by Mariners skipper Dan Wilson. Both of them look toward the trade deadline and find little reason at this point to trade key assets. At home against the rival Brewers, the Minnesota Twins drop all three games over a weekend series at Target Field, continuing a tailspin that looks a whole lot like the one the team endured at the end of last season. David laments just how often we've watched Jonah Bride pitch, while Dan offers a theory as to why Jake Bauers pitched as poorly as he did for the Brewers in Game 1.
