    On a crisp evening in April 2023, 20-year-old Alexa Bartell was driving to her girlfriend’s house. The two were on the phone together, when suddenly, the call dropped. Alexa’s girlfriend, Jenna Griggs, tried calling Alexa back several times but the call went straight to voicemail. When Jenna opened the Find My Friends app, she saw something alarming. It appeared as though Alexa’s vehicle had veered off the road and into a wildlife refuge, and wasn’t moving. When Jenna reached Alexa’s location, she’d be faced with devastating news. Alexa had been killed. Someone had thrown a large landscaping rock through her windshield, killing the young woman instantly.
