Main Discussion #1: Radical Hermione Spin Cycle: Have the hosts ever gotten caught up in the news and believed something that turned out to be false? Why is Umbridge allowed to teach the students during their O.W.L.s year? Could Hermione be working smarter, not harder, by threatening to write to Mrs. Weasley about Fred & George? We debate the ethics of them testing products on first years! And did the Twins drug Hermione later in the chapter? We look back on our Books 4 and 3 discussions with a round of MuggleMail regarding Karkaroff and Remus Lupin. Given the importance to Dumbledore of his appearing on the Famous Witch and Wizard Cards, could he be using them to spy on unsuspecting kids like Harry?! On the upcoming TV show, what changes to Snape might be concerning, and which ones wouldn't? Petunia and Vernon's relationship to each other and to the Potters is examined in depth! Are all of the adults in the Order just disorganized? Does Arthur Weasley deserve a pass for not scouting the route? Are Muggle primary schools looking for the M.I.A. Hogwarts students? Be sure to check out Episode 448 for our prior Chapter 12 analysis! Main Discussion #1 The Worst Monday Ron Has Ever Seen Hermione remarks that she wishes there could be better House unity. But what does Hogwarts actually do to promote this? As prefect, Ron struggles to reprimand his brothers. Should Harry have said something to Fred and George in private about their "extracurricular activities"? Have Ron and Harry become too reliant on Hermione for academic support? Or has she enabled them too much over the years? Why does Ron behave so rudley towards Cho? Could he be jealous of her? Why are there seemingly no decent teachers at Hogwarts? Binns, Snape and Umbridge have Harry's fifth year off to a rough start! We rank the previous Defense Against The Dark Arts Professors Main Discussion #2: Hermione the Rebel Did Hermione's raised hand in Umbridge's class land Harry in detention? Great podcast!

This is a really great podcast for any Harry Potter fan. I love that they joke around on the show, and take the liberty to occasionally poke a little fun at JK Rowling. One thing though, is that there are sometimes a few curse words. Of course the worst ones get edited out, but still. I love the hosts (especially Laura!) and almost always have at least one long, hard laugh per episode. Thanks for reading and highly recommended!🙂

Fantastic Podcast

So with a lot more time at my computer (Work from home) I am just getting into podcast. A quick search led me to here. I started with the first few eps (2005) and loved it. A lot of the old stuff felt a bit outdated as we are in 2022, so I just started with Jan 2021, and am going from there. I absolutely love this podcast. In depth about a lot of things, and definitely reminded me of some stuff I've forgotten.

Also it shine's a new perspective on some parts of the story. Absolutely fantastic work. Once i'm all caught up, I might go back and listen to some old stuff, reminisce about the hype I once felt about new stuff. Can't wait to see if we discuss the new game coming out at the end of this yea in any 2022 podcast.

Chapter by Chapter

Mugglecast is probably the longest running Harry Potter themed Podcast out there, and is probably also one of the longest running Podcasts in all out there, just having celebrated its 18th birthday. And with a fair amount of continuity in the hosts. It is a very enjoyable, entertaining and also informative podcast. They are currently just over a year into doing a Chapter by Chapter detailed discussion of the books, with the full knowledge of how the series ended, and comparing their memories of how various issues appeared to them when they were teens and how they feel about those issues as full adults, with real jobs, families, etc.

Highly recommended.
