Um paladino mendigo, um arauto bêbado e um juiz atrapalhado se juntam na grandiosa taberna da Dona Onça, para além de tecer comentários sobre a monarquia, se meterem no meio de confusões, altas aventuras ou quem sabe o que mais, para que um dia terem a chance de presenciar a ascensão do Movimento Vera Cruz Livre ao poder e o restabelecimento da ordem no reino.
