    We would like to welcome Cecilia Douglass on this episode surrounding family. Cecilia has lived in Southwest Kansas since she was 6 years old. She has two daughters graduating from Garden City High School in 2024 and a son who just finished Kindergarten. She has worked for KCSL for going on 6 years. She has been an ambassador for the Garden City Area Chamber of Commerce since 2014 and serves on the board of directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Finney

    and Kearny Counties and Tumbleweed Festival. She loves sharing agency’s mission with others and enjoys finding creative ways to fundraise and generate awareness for KCSL and their prevention efforts locally as well as statewide.

    Counties served within Southwest Kansas: Head Start/Early Head Start in Finney, Kearny,

    Grant, Gray, Haskell, Scott, Seward, Stevens, Stanton, and Wichita counties.

     


    KCSL offers Head Start and Early Head Start services to 10 swks Counties. KCSL also offers 1-

    800-Children or 1800childrenks.org as a resource for parents to access parenting supports all

    over Kansas. Parents can call the 1-800-Children Helpline to speak with a live person about their

    challenges and struggles or they can access 1800chikdrenks.org and type in their zip code to be

    directed to applicable resources in their area!

    Three take away:

    1. It takes a village to raise children

    2. Families bring so many of there own experiences that translate into valuable strengths

    3. We all need help because parenting is not easy and things are always changing in parenthood

  • Episode #6 Mental Health is taking care of our wellbeing

    We would like to welcome Ayrika Watson is a Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker who has been providing services to Garden City, Kansas and the surrounding Southwest Kansas areas since 2018. Ayrika’s practice, Healing Journeys, is located in the Presbyterian Church in Garden City as part of their effort to support those who are struggling with mental health challenges. Ayrika offers trauma- informed services to clients of all ages using a variety of modalities including play-therapy and faith-based counseling.

    We would like to welcome Prithvi Murthy to the One Stop Resource Podcast. Prithvi is the CEO of Accelacare Physical Therapy and Accelacare Occupational Services. He joined Accelacare as a financial consultant in 2019 and has served in his current capacity since April 2022. He was brought on to refine Accelacare’s operations, finances, and clinical mentorship model with the goal of growing Accelacare into a broader healthcare platform serving patients throughout the Midwest and across clinical settings. Prithvi’s interest in Accelacare stemmed from his curiosity around how to create a patient-centric healthcare system that benefits clinicians, employees, financial stakeholders, and patients. Prior to working in healthcare, Prithvi worked in various roles in finance. He spent time working in Hedge Funds and Private Equity with the goal of understanding how markets, companies, and the investment process function. In these roles, he held responsibility for deploying and managing hundreds of millions of investable assets. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Southern California and completed a one-year General Course program in Economics at the London School of Economics.
