• Surrender [To Your Calling] - 2 Feb. 2025 w/ Kent Thompson
    Feb 2 2025

We are underway for Fast Feb. If you missed the book or are not sure what it is, you can download it here: https://www.peakvisionchurch.co.nz/#up-coming Losing faith can lead to numbness, complacency, and at times criticism. Kent discusses a story about Jesus and Peter that focuses on faith, sanctification, and overcoming spiritual numbness. The story recounts Peter and his business partners catching an overwhelming amount of fish after following Jesus' instruction, leading Peter to recognise Jesus' divine power and follow him. Kent further explains sanctification as both a positional (declared holy through faith) and progressive (growing in holiness) process. • Word of the Year 2025 - 26 Jan. 2025 w/ Jack Lamborn
    Jan 26 2025

Through stories and scripture, Jack weaves a great and easy understanding of our Word for the Year (WOTY). At Peak, our heart and vision is to see you become so close to God, an example of this is when King David wrote... "my heart is entwined with yours" (See Psalms 27:13-14 TPT). As we look to 2025 let us fully grab a hold of the Word of the Year.

Jack refers to a video, you can watch that here:

  • Uncomfortable
    Nov 27 2023

For all moments, see: https://www.youtube.com/live/3ca3oPgFTd0 Sarah delves into comfort, discussing its definition, implications, and relevance to our lives. She begins by differentiating between 'comfort' as a noun – a state of physical ease and freedom from pain or constraint – and 'comfort' as a verb – to ease or alleviate grief or distress. She highlights the world's portrayal of comfort as a paramount goal and questions whether pursuing constant comfort is truly beneficial or attainable? Sarah reflects on her own struggles with comfort zones and the human tendency to resist, be reluctant, or resent when asked for more, especially in the context of faith. She shares personal experiences with running, particularly the 400 meters, to illustrate pushing beyond comfort zones and embracing challenges. She touches on the difficulty of maintaining comfort in a world filled with troubles. However, she also emphasises the hope and peace that faith provides despite the absence of earthly comfort. Sarah suggests that a consistent state of comfort is unattainable in this world and often leads to resentment and bitterness when pursued as a primary goal. She suggests that true comfort is promised in the afterlife and that the present life involves navigating through trials with faith as the guiding force. --- If you are kicking the tyres of faith or just want to reach out. • Whoever Be Worthy
    Nov 20 2023

For all moments from Sunday, check out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DQIWauhtPeE&t=1s In this conversation, Kent discusses the importance of faith, especially in the face of fear and discomfort. He explains that operating in the "contact zone" of fear and faith is essential for growth and action, suggesting that comfort does not motivate change as effectively as fear. Kent emphasises the importance of pleasing the Lord as a greater motivator than fear. Kent shares a personal story about his journey of faith, likening it to a plane flight where he initially tried to control things but eventually realised the need to let the Lord lead. Kent also talks about his family, mentioning his daughter Ariana and his grandchild, Raiden, illustrating how God weaves through lives in unexpected ways. He reflects on the challenges and blessings of blended families and how God guides and blesses these journeys. Kent moves on to discuss the topic of worthiness, particularly in the context of relationships and choosing partners for his children. He emphasizes the importance of being worthy, not necessarily perfect, focusing on the ability to care, provide, and sacrifice for partners and the people around you. --- If you are kicking the tyres of faith or just want to reach out. • Acts 29 - Ep.12 | Dare To Believe
    Nov 13 2023

For Some Moments from Sunday, check out: https://youtube.com/live/DaomWY2Wrew In our continuing series of Acts 29, Kent shares about freedom as a Jesus-Follower. He emphasises that God desires for people to be free, not just from sin and the law, but also from burdens and bondage. He believes God wants to rejuvenate and empower individuals with a new spirit and boldness. Kent states that many people are restrained, likening them to caterpillars before metamorphosis, suggesting that they have the potential to transform into something new and beautiful, like butterflies. He encourages us to embrace the freedom offered by God and to allow the Holy Spirit to guide us towards a more liberated and joyous life. He continues by discussing the importance of responding to God's call immediately rather than waiting until one feels ready or perfect. Kent shares personal experiences of faith, including his decision to attend church and ultimately commit his life to God, as well as the decision to marry at a young age despite societal expectations. Kent also talks about the concept of faith in action, not just as an internal belief but as something that should be demonstrated through deeds. He refers to biblical passages that highlight the vitality of faith expressed through works and the power of the Holy Spirit to enact change and bring life. The latter part revolves around an initiative called "Daring Acts of Faith," where Kent challenges us to engage in acts of kindness, evangelism, and outreach. Kent introduces Luke, who runs an organisation called Unashamed Youth, to speak about an upcoming event where we plan to practice sharing our faith in the community.

  • Never Stop
    Nov 7 2023

For all moments, check out: https://youtube.com/live/waG_S5J0KRQ Kent discusses the challenges of living a Christian life. He emphasises the need as a Jesus-Follower to engage in spiritual warfare, stand firm in their beliefs, and fight for the positive aspects of our lives, such as marriage and family. He warns against the dangers of becoming too comfortable, suggesting that such comfort can lead to laxity. Kent uses biblical references to encourage discipline and vigilance, drawing parallels between physical training and spiritual training. He notes the ease with which modern conveniences can lead to spiritual complacency and how this can prevent people from actively participating in our community. Kent warns that comfort can lead to missed opportunities for spiritual growth and fulfilment of God's plans. Kent discusses the value of enduring the mundane aspects of life, as these experiences test faithfulness and build character. He refers to the biblical figure of David, who tended to mundane tasks before rising to greatness, as an example of how to remain faithful in all circumstances. For King David, when he was king, the mundane got him into trouble. --- If you are kicking the tyres of faith or just want to reach out. Let us know; we'd love to hear from you.
