Sorry that this review might not help people not already familiar with the work of C.S. Lewis; I've read his work for years, and greatly appreciate the emergence of this wonderful podcast discussing it. The "setting" is clever -- referencing Lewis's own regular meetings with beloved friends at the Eagle and Child pub in the UK. The presenters clearly are friends in the same mold, both supporting and challenging each other, with lots of banter and teasing thrown in.

That doesn't diminish the value of the content, however, because amidst their good cheer, the presenters (to my judgment) accurately convey what Lewis wrote. For anyone struggling to understand Lewis's work, this podcast is an excellent tool. And if you understand Lewis's work all too well and find application overwhelming, this podcast will support you with the fellowship of kindred strugglers.

Since this is a really positive review, let me say that I'm way older than the presenters and have never met them! So I think I'm impartial. Thanks.

Since discovering PWJ about a year ago, my favorite podcast has become so much more to me than high quality entertainment. It’s become a standing date with dear friends. David, Matt and Andrew (and I’ll include the formidable Christin Ditchfield) have a way of transcending their recording space and making you feel as though you’re at the table, in the midst of it all, absorbing the discussion while sipping your Earl Grey. Whether travelling, in the midst of a difficult week, or just starting the day off on the porch with coffee, PWJ has become a refuge of personal comfort and religious inspiration. It’s excellent, intelligent. often challenging, always charming and endearingly personal. It’s a highlight of my week!

Every season just gets better. Thank you all for the happiness and friendship you bring to my week!

P.S. I highly recommend becoming a “Pints with Slack” Patreon supporter. You’ll make new friends and experience the joys of being a member of the PWJ Slack community where there’s camaraderie and fantastic discussions on all things from Inklings to the Eucharist to navigating the world of beverages!

Simply delightful!
