About this listen

LIVE from the Rainbow Carpet at Joe's Pub- Sarah is interviewing the performers, writers, and VIP guests at Queering the Canon: A Retrospective, a gala to benefit Ring of Keys. Ring of Keys is an artist service organization that promotes and fosters community and visibility for musical theatre artists - onstage and off - who identify as queer women, transgender, and nonbinary artists. We strive to create a vibrant and diverse musical theatre landscape. Ring of Keys, established in 2018 in New York City, was created to counter the lack of parity and opportunity in musical theatre for queer women, transgender, and nonbinary artists, as well as the broader LGBTQIA+ community's absence from significant representation. Founders Andrea Prestinario and Royer Bockus launched the organization to transform an industry that accepts gay-representation as sufficient queer-representation in our field.
