 This is a story of Major Sudhir Kumar Walia, AC, SM & Bar was an Officer in the Indian Army serving in the elite Para. He was posthumously awarded the Ashoka Chakra, India's highest peacetime military decoration, in January 2000. Sudhir was from Himachal Pradesh Kangra district where he lived with his army Subedar father. Sudhir is the only Indian army officer who was given a chance to speak at America’s defence headquarters Pentagon, in Washington.
