I am a huge Vanessa McCausland fan; through her novels I have travelled down the south coast, to the Capertee Valley, to remote Tasmania, to France and now to the Lakes in this raw, poignant and beautifully haunting novel The Last Illusion of Paige White...there are no spoilers in this chat (I hope!!!) and so much fascinating insight into the creation of it! This is one of the conversations I just have sat on, I am so sorry..and I loved Art Hour at the Duchess Hotel; I blame life...but having reflected on it while editing to what felt like a brand new chat..Art Hour at the Duchess Hotel would make a great Christmas gift, definitely a great one to read in that weird end of year reflection time when you are thinking about what you want your new year to be like so there is that...but I am still embarrassed; this will not ever happen again I can assure you.

I love me some rural fiction and have adored Penelope Janu novels from the first one I read years ago now! Animals, adventure and romance go so well together don't they!
The Summerfield Saddler is Penelope Janu's eighth novel and I just loved it- Mac is such a plucky main character, her grandpa Gordon is the best, I would have let Keith Urban (the dog) stay in the nursing home too...loved it all, Kit is just so dreamy...just wait til you've met his acquaintance...what a viking!!
Loved it all so much!!!!

Such a fun, spicy read! I love having the luxury of just being able to try new reads and aren't we just so lucky to be readers..this was so the book I was in the mood for and I think the perfect end of year read! So fun, but also lots to think through- definitely check the trigger warnings provided at the start of the novel...but I loved it and it was SO exciting to chat with Lauren Jackson about Break The Rules!

You would not be able to find a bigger fan of Belinda Alexandra than me, I LOVE her!!!! I remember like it was yesterday picking up White Gardenia...busting into tears when she said she would do an author event at the shop...how lovely she was when I interviewed her for the podcast the first time...such an incredibly supportive author and so talented.
The Masterpiece is definitely my favourite Belinda Alexandra; its a WW2 historical fiction, but it is also about art, and rabbits, kindness and friendship...I love this novel and was so honoured to be able to chat with her here!

I really did squeal when I saw Pictures of You in my book mail, I really had been looking forward to reading another Emma Grey as soon as I closed the Last Love Note...I don't know what I was expecting, but I can assure you Pictures of You superseded every hope!
This is a fantastic novel, full of twists and mystery, full of love and ambition... fear and intimidation are also here too...this novel does talk a great deal of very important themes and readers do need to go gently, but absolutely an incredible novel and I was super chuffed to have had the opportunity to sit down with Emma Grey to chat Pictures of You!

I could NOT turn the pages fast enough in The Close-Up!!!! And then of course I haven't been able to stop thinking about it since turning the last page...twisty, compulsive and increasingly dark, this novel looks at the dark side of a dream and goodness was I there for it!!!!!
