Hey listeners, Imran here. My wife Selena and I, alongside Pastor Ryan Brown, are excited to invite you into the vibrant atmosphere of the Palms Baptist Church studio!

Delving into the intricacies of biblical submission, Pastor Ryan Brown aids us in navigating the often misunderstood passages and cultural misconceptions that have long surrounded this topic. Our conversation is a tapestry of personal anecdotes, theological insight, and a challenge to the historical misapplications of scripture. We illuminate the core of Christian marriage, emphasizing the strength in mutual respect and the strength that comes from mutual submission. Over this discussion we will weave a narrative that invites introspection and acknowledges the delicate balance of upholding personal convictions while engaging in the dance of submission within our relationships.

This episode is particularly special as we stand on the cusp of change, not only embracing a new medium but also preparing for my military relocation to Quantico, Virginia. We share the impact our journey has had on listeners far and wide, like the truck driver who found salvation through listening to the podcast while traversing the nation, and we ponder the future of this podcast that has grown dear to so many people.

As we close this chapter, we are filled with gratitude for the growth and shared experiences gained over the past 2 years. We reflect on the evolution of our perspectives and the strengthening of our hearts and convictions. We discuss the broader implications of submission in societal structures, the resilience born from adversity, and the transformative power of understanding and honor in relationships. As we part ways for a break, we leave you with this truth: God is King. Continue to study his word and continue to learn more about him.

Join us for this meaningful episode as we turn the page, ready for the blessings and challenges that await us on the horizon.

  • Ep 85 A Royal Honor: The Real Call to Witness
    Apr 9 2024

Dive into the rich tapestry of the Bible as we navigate the concept of ascension and specifically the ascension of Jesus to power. We will use Solomon's ascent to power as a parallel, exploring how these ancient narratives cast a light on our modern spiritual journey. With Pastor Ryan Brown's keen insights, we draw out details that bind the Old Testament to the New Testament, revealing Christ's enduring sovereignty. Our conversation extends to the roles of proclamation and allegiance in the Christian life, as we discuss the gravity of acknowledging Christ's kingship and how it shapes our destinies.

Concluding on a note of introspection, we ponder the mission set forth for us as witnesses to the kingdom of God, emphasizing the empowering guidance of the Holy Spirit rather than our own efforts. The episode is rich with the transformative potential that faith holds, from identity reformation to the generational impacts of our spiritual choices. We invite listeners to join us as we continue to learn and grow in our faith.

  • Ep 84 Our Consistently Inconsistent Faithfulness - The Real Story of Peter at Jesus’ Arrest
    Mar 26 2024

Discover the intricate tapestry woven by scripture in our latest podcast episode, where Selena, Pastor Ryan Brown, and I unravel the profound symbolism rooted in the Garden of Gethsemane. Experience the Easter story as we draw parallels between the arrest of Christ and humanity's first steps in the Garden of Eden, revealing a redemptive narrative that flips the script on original sin. The imagery of trees, fruit, and thorns takes on new life, highlighting the promise of salvation and the ultimate act of sacrificial love.

Navigating the complexities of faithfulness, we shed light on how it shapes and defines our relationships—with one another and with the divine. From the rocky shores of marriage to our love of Christ, we dissect the emotional intricacies of Peter's denial and ponder our own moments of inconsistency. In examining the tumultuous events of Jesus' arrest and Peter's impulsive defense, we find powerful lessons on obedience, and the importance of standing firm in our faith amidst life's tempests.

The episode culminates with an exploration of Peter's transformation post-arrest, inviting us to reflect on the interplay between fear, faithfulness, and the journey towards emotional and spiritual mastery. Join us for a profound reflection on the power of redemption and the strength found in unwavering devotion to our beliefs, even when fear seeks to challenge our resolve.

A deeper look into Scripture

I love this Podcast! It takes us one step deeper into the text, background and theological issues surrounding each Biblical text. Ryan Brown, Imran Ward and Selena Cruz all team together to bring a really lively discursion about the Bible.

I like that the studies are more than verse by verse Bible study, but often more of a look at behind the scenes of a text and alternate views of how it might be interpreted.

The teacher is Ryan Brown, but this is very much a discussion, not a lecture or sermon. We can tell Ryan studied, and the hosts enjoy getting together to talk.

The best Christmas story.

Amazing is all I can say. As a person who is separated by time and culture from this event it’s amazing to have all of the context surrounding the birth of Jesus explained. Nothing happens by accident, and the linking of events through time surrounding the Bethlehem and the birthplace of Jesus is amazing to see and

the hosts talked to much

The host talked too much. I know he wanted a conversation but his questions and interjectons were a distraction. I really wanted to hear what the guest speaker had to say. I didn't finish the podcast. The host should have saved his questions until the end.
