  • The Zodiac Killer: Part One | #400
    May 22 2025

Violent attacks, sadistic taunting, and uncrackable puzzles; in some ways “The Zodiac” laid the foundations for every murderous TV psychopath and movie villain of the next half-century. For our 400th episode we decided to dedicate three whole episodes to the potentially the most famous serial killer in history: how he operated, how his puzzles were solved, and who he might have been.

In part one we’re going to tell you everything you need to know about the Zodiac’s first four victims: David Farady, Betty Lou Jensen, Darlene Ferrin, and Michael Mageau. Two pairs of “young lovers”, all killed at night by a lone gunman, seemingly without a motive…

  • Sarbjit Kaur Athwal: Life Without Honour | #399
    May 15 2025

When her sister-in-law never returned from a trip to India, Sarbjit Kaur Athwal knew exactly what had happened: her mother-in-law had made no secret of her plan to “get rid of” the outspoken thorn in the family’s side.

But Sarbjit also knew what she was up against: a strict code of honour; the threat of shame and total rejection by her community – and the certainty that if she stepped out of line, it would be her turn next.

    May 14 2025

With the release of a new Netflix documentary on the Wests, we dove into the archive (way way back to episodes 27 and 28) to get you up to date with our in-depth two-parter on one of the UK's most infamous cases.

    --

Incest, rape, murder and torture dungeons; the girls take on one of Britain's most notorious serial killer couples - Fred and Rose West.

Over a span of 25 years this pair of sexual sadists carried out unspeakable evil in their cellar at the now infamous 25 Cromwell St, and when the truth was finally revealed it shocked the world.

The girls head into the infamous torture cellar to uncover the horrifying truth about the Wests’ years of depravity. As body after body was found, a haunted Fred confessed to it all – but Rose stayed silent. We hear the incredible survivor testimony that broke a nation’s heart and finally labelled Rosemary West as one of the most evil female serial killers in history.

I cannot say enough about this delightful podcast. These lovely ladies take the listener down a dark path of true crime with wit and facts. I binge RedHanded every weekend while cleaning, walking the dog, cooking dinner…I’m addicted! This podcast is essential if you love true crime. :)

Obsessed

95% of the time I really enjoy this podcast. I've listened to almost every episode over the past few years. The stories are accurate and clearly narrated, if not a little formulaic. My only gripe is that 5% of the time when either of the hosts actually come off as arrogant/insufferable when trying to be funny about something, where they're not very informed.

Great story telling

love the narrators as well as they are absolutely comedic to listen to! they make any story digestible without the excess Grimm factor but they also just tell it like it is! I love the theories at the end as well, really leaves it for an open discussion!

Best true crime that's digestible

I first found these ladies by chance. I was looking for a true crime podcast that wasn’t droll or borderline insulting to the victims. They are informative entertaining and although this is not their full time job they are very active on social media with their listeners. Continuing the discussion after the podcast has ended. They remind me of my sister and I discussing these cases but save us the time of researching. I don’t know if they will see this but thank you for all the effort you put into this podcast.

Fantastic

In my 30 adult years of true crime obsession, this is my favorite of any show/podcast. The witty banter and sarcastic skepticism is pure gold.
So many shows are dumbed down and/or over explained, so every simple mind can easily follow along. But these hosts are intelligent with an above average (it would seem based on other shows) ability to reason. They each write sections for the other to read, so legitimate, interesting, questions come up and are explained. They look up and read facts that you actually want to know or find interesting even if you already know the basics of. They give you links/sources of you need or want additional information. But don't waste your time explaining things every true crime fan has heard a million times.
The best is the regular comedic breaks from the macabre. Sarcastic responses to statements from media, law enforcement, suspects, etc. Hilariously unexpected language in an English accent is just a bonus.
They were several years in by the time I discovered them, and I listened to nothing else until completely caught up.

Best true crime EVER

Well researched and entertaining. The occasional detours from the stories are also much appreciated.

Absolutely love this one!
