• 2. Live with Your Heart United with God (Leviticus 1:1-9)
    Nov 12 2022

We just read Leviticus 1:1-9 for today’s Scripture reading. The word “Levi” means “unity.” As the name suggests, God made and worked in the Tabernacle because He wanted to be united with the people of Israel by remitting away their sins when they offered Him sacrifices according to the strict requirements of the sacrificial system as recorded in the Book of Leviticus. During that time, just as it’s true for us today, not a day went by when the people of Israel did not commit sin. Because the people of Israel sinned constantly without fail, they had to offer sacrifices to God inside the Tabernacle according to the requirements of the sacrificial system, and through this obtain the remission of all their sins, become God’s holy people, and receive His help. God instituted this sacrificial system in order to be with the people of Israel, walk with them, watch over them, bless them, protect them from their enemies, solve the problem of all their sins, and be their God. This is also true for you and me today, being so important, receiving such wonderful blessings, and having God on our side.

  • 1. What Is the True Gospel? (Leviticus 1:1-9)
    Nov 12 2022

When I was a little kid, I heard that you had to pay to look at the skyscrapers in Seoul, so I didn’t stand in front of any tall buildings. Of course, someone was just pulling my legs, but as a clueless kid I took it seriously. So I didn’t look up at any tall buildings. I was afraid that if I did, someone would come and demand money from me, saying, “Up to what floor did you look? Do you have any idea how much it costs to look at just one floor?” Soon, I found out that you didn’t actually have to pay any money to look at the skyscrapers. So I looked up at what was then the tallest building in Seoul, known back then as the Building 63 for the number of floors it had, and I counted every floor all the way to the top. I got dizzy trying to count all the floors. But nevertheless, in my heart, it was clear that the Lord had blotted out all my sins. This evening I would like us to focus our minds and hearts on God, and consider together what the true gospel really is.

  • 4. The Righteous Should Fulfill All Their Priestly Duties (Leviticus 3:1-17)
    Nov 12 2022

You and I are leading our lives of faith in God’s Church, and accordingly are serving the gospel of the water and the Spirit united together with one heart so that sinners may be reconciled with God. We all believe in the gospel of the water and the Spirit, and we are all serving it diligently even at this very moment. But this gospel work will not end so easily anytime soon, for it is something that we must carry on until the end of this world. We are therefore determined to continue to carry out this work into the future. Even though we sometimes get weary from our work, and we feel worn out in both body and soul, we must still bear the burden of this work by placing our faith in the righteousness of God. That’s because the salvation of so many souls now depends on us. Because there are so many sinners in this world, it is incumbent upon us to preach to them the gospel of the water and the Spirit that reveals the righteousness of God.

  • 3. Make at All Times a Fragrant Grain Offering To the Lord (Leviticus 2:1-16)
    Nov 12 2022

Warm greetings to everyone. Today, I would like to share the Word of God with you regarding the grain offering. The grain offering here refers to a bloodless offering made out of finely ground grain, which was offered with other sacrificial offerings. Spiritually speaking, the grain offering can be said to refer to the offering of devotion that we dedicate to God. After burnt offerings, peace offerings, or sin offerings were made to God, these grain offerings were made by grinding the first harvest of the grain and mixing it with frankincense, salt and oil. That’s why they were called grain offerings. The people of Israel had offered this flour to God along with other sacrificial offerings.

  • 6. The Death Jesus Suffered on the Cross (Leviticus 4:13-21)
    Nov 12 2022

Warm greetings to all of you. Today, I would like to share the Word with you on how the people of the Old Testament received the remission of sins from God by offering a certain kind of sacrifice. When we read the Book of Leviticus, we can experience it being very difficult to understand. The Book of Leviticus records in great detail how people in the age of the Old Testament received the remission of sins. If the people of the Old Testament received the remission of sins according to the Word on the sacrificial system, then I believe that all of us living in this age are likewise can receive the remission of sins by believing in the Word of the gospel of the water and the Spirit.

  • 5. Restoring Our Relationship with God (Leviticus 4:1-12)
    Nov 12 2022

The Book of Leviticus is the Word of God writing about the union between God and man. How and what kind of sacrifice should we offer in order to be united with the righteous God? For us to be one with God, we have to offer the sacrifice that God desired. The same was true for the people of the Old Testament, from the priests to the leaders of the congregation, to the common people, and to the elders. The Scripture reading we read today describes what had to be done when a priest brought guilt on the people.

  • 7. The Everlasting Remission of Sins (Leviticus 4:27-31)
    Nov 12 2022

Today I would like to examine the sacrificial offering that the people of Israel gave to God in order to receive the remission of sins during the age of the Old Testament. In the days of the Old Testament, the people of Israel offered a sacrifice to God to blot out their sins, and in this way the remission of their sins was obtained. By examining the requirements, forms, and contents of the sacrifices offered by the people of the Old Testament, we can think about the proper way to believe in Jesus. In those days, whenever the people of Israel broke the Law of God, they receive the remission of their sins by bringing a sacrificial animal and offering it to God. This world and the whole universe were all made by God. Although God is not visible by our naked eyes, there is no question that He is alive and with us. God has also given human beings His Law. It is through this Law of God that we have come to realize not only the sins of our acts but also the sins of our hearts.

  • 9. Sermon on The Trespass Offering (Leviticus 5:14-19)
    Nov 12 2022

Today, I would like to share the Word with you regarding the trespass offering. Unlike the burnt offering, the trespass offering required the people of God to add one-fifth to the restitution made for their offence. When the people of Israel sinned against God or man, they had to offer a sacrificial animal to make restitution for the sin they committed. Spiritually speaking, this trespass offering implies that we must not only make restitution for our sins, but also pay an additional price on top of the wages of these sins. God said here that we should add one-fifth to the restitution that we must make for our sins. In those days, the people Israel gave to God such offerings as burnt offerings, sin offerings, trespass offerings, thanksgiving offerings, and peace offerings, and this was the requirement for the trespass offering.
