About this listen
As I was doing the research for this episode, I found an "Easter egg." I had occasionally heard of a federal medical marijuana program, but really just thought it was an urban myth and never really had the time to do the research. Well, as it turns out, there is a program that exists and there is exactly ONE person currently enrolled in that program.
The program is called by several names, but this one in particular is called the Compassionate Investigational New Drug Program. It began in 1978, which allowed a limited number of people to use medical cannabis grown at the University of Mississippi. It is administered by the National Institute on Drug Abuse.
