In Acts, chapter 2, we hear the first sermon ever preached by the Christian Church. Peter stands, in the midst of a Jewish festival called Pentecost, and he proclaims the truth about Jesus of Nazareth.

That day, we are told, three thousand people came to believe in Jesus.
