Samudra Manthan took place in Kshira Samudra (Milky Ocean). Where is the Milky Ocean located? To everyone's dismay, it could be the Kataka (Cuttack) Water Encirclement, upon the Mahanadi River. It is a broad water band that surrounds the Cuttack Peninsula forming the inland-end of Mahanadi Delta.
