  • Hey there, beach lovers! Ready to catch some waves and soak up the sun? Well, here's your surf zone forecast from the National Weather Service in Tallahassee, FL.

    Today, we've got some lingering long-period swells creating 2 to 4-foot waves along with onshore winds, which means a high risk of rip currents at all our beaches. So, tread carefully out there!

    For South Walton, expect around 4-foot surf, mostly sunny skies with showers likely, and a high rip current risk in effect throughout the day. Water temperature is a warm 82 degrees, perfect for a dip!

    As we head into the weekend, the surf will calm down to around 2 feet on Saturday, with a moderate rip current risk. Sunday through Tuesday, the rip current risk remains moderate with waves around 1 foot, along with a chance of showers and thunderstorms.

    Over in Coastal Bay, similar conditions with a high rip current risk today and a decrease in surf height over the weekend. Expect mostly sunny skies and a chance of showers and storms.

    And for Coastal Gulf, including the beaches of Saint Joe Beach, keep an eye out for those high rip currents today with around 3-foot surf. The rip current risk decreases to moderate over the weekend.

    Lastly, Coastal Franklin, including Apalachicola, will also experience a high rip current risk today with around 3-foot waves. This risk lowers to moderate from Saturday onwards.
