Leaving A Narcissistic Relationship // Leaving A Narcissistic Parent Relationship

This episode was sparked by a YouTube listener’s question on how to leave a narcissistic relationship. In this episode, I chat about my experience in a narcissistic parent relationship and the first steps that helped me to see out of it.

Because these relationships aren’t just painful — they’re confusing. They mess with your sense of self. You don’t realise how far you’ve lost your voice until you start getting it back.

    In this episode, I share:

    • Why narcissistic relationships feel so impossible to leave (especially with a parent)

    • A personal story from one of the hardest times in my life, when my brother was sick — and how my dad’s response made things really clear

    • The shame and emotional manipulation I experienced, and how it left me questioning everything

    • Why therapy was the turning point for me — and what it was like to finally hear someone say, “It’s not you.”

    • What self-trust actually looked like in this journey (and why I couldn't do it alone at first)

If you’re in a relationship where you constantly question yourself… where it’s always about them… where you can never do enough — I just want to say: you’re not crazy. You’re not dramatic. And you’re not alone.

This isn’t about blame. It’s about finding peace, setting boundaries, and giving ourselves the permission to choose our mental health — even when that means making painful decisions.

  • How I Learned To Work With The Inner Critic (Not Fight It) // Internal Family Systems
    May 20 2025

    Free Inner Critic Meditation

    https://selfdevelopmentcollective.com/free-inner-critic-meditation

In this episode, I open up about my personal journey with the inner critic—how it held me back, and how I’ve slowly learned to work with it rather than against it using the powerful lens of Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy.

For years, I tried everything: affirmations, mindset shifts, journaling... but nothing helped silence that critical voice inside me. It wasn’t until I discovered IFS that I completely shifted my approach to working with the inner critic.

    Together, we’ll explore:

    • What Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy says about the inner critic

    • Why trying to "silence" your inner critic often backfires

    • The connection between your inner critic and childhood experiences

    • A simple but powerful reframe that helped me soften my self-talk

    • Book recommendation: Freedom from the Inner Critic by Jay Earley & Bonnie Weiss

Whether your inner critic sounds like “You’re not good enough,” or keeps pushing you to “do more, be more,” this episode is here to remind you: you are not alone. And there is a gentle way forward.

  • Season Finale: A Personal Development Reflection on Self Growth & What’s Next
    Apr 10 2025

This is the final episode of Season 1, and I just want to say—thank you so much for being here.

Your time, energy, and presence have meant the world to me. In this wrap-up episode, I reflect on everything we explored this season—from redefining goals and values to building daily vision, staying aligned in our habits, and reconnecting with ourselves in more meaningful ways.

I share what I’ve learned through showing up consistently (which I’m super proud of), and why this season has felt like a whole new way of doing self-development—one that honors where we are now, not just where we want to go.

    We also dive into:

    • 🌱 Why reflection matters just as much as action

    • 💭 The transition into Season 2 and how the focus is shifting to deeper emotional work (relationships, grief, the inner critic)

    • 🧠 My own healing journey with narcissistic relationships and upcoming episodes on cutting ties with a narcissistic parent

    • 🎤 A new Q&A segment launching next season—where YOU can ask anonymous questions about personal growth, relationships, or anything in between - Ask here

This is your reminder to celebrate your growth too. Whether you listened to one episode or all of them, I’m proud of you—and I hope you’re proud of yourself.

✨ Take a moment to rest, reflect, and acknowledge how far you’ve come.
