  • Thankful Right Now
    Nov 25 2024

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.

In a year full of twists and turns with uncertainty abounding, I am so thankful for the certain hope of eternal life through Jesus Christ. Are you thankful for that, too? Instead of focusing on what’s gone wrong and how many things have changed, fix your eyes on Jesus, who never changes. Hear this reminder from Philippians 4:6-7: "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." Did you hear that? In EVERY situation, yes even right now, we can be thankful and Jesus will give you the peace you need. So, as we go into the holiday season, be thankful in all the circumstances that you’ve been given the free gift of eternal life by accepting Jesus Christ. And out of gratitude, pray for an opportunity to share the Gospel with another! For more tips and resources on how you can share your faith, visit our website at www.sharelife.today.

  • The Result of a Thankful Heart
    Nov 22 2024

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.

According to a popular survey last year, ninety-three percent of Americans celebrate Christmas. That’s really amazing when you think about it! And even more shocking: many of the people celebrating Christmas don’t know the Savior who it’s all about. This gives us an incredible opportunity amidst all the Christmas songs, shopping, parties, and festivities to tell those around us about the true meaning of Christmas—that in the city of David, a Savior was born, which is Christ the Lord. When we talk about Jesus’ birth, life, death, and resurrection, we’re giving them an opportunity to respond to what Jesus has done for them. So let’s share the Gospel and ask our friends and family if they want to accept the greatest gift that’s ever given—forgiveness through trusting in Christ alone. It can be as easy as asking them if they know what Christmas is really all about! For help in getting started, visit our website at www.sharelife.today.

  • The Best Gift Ever
    Nov 21 2024

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.

What do you think is the best gift ever? Well today, I want to share with you an opportunity we should not miss this holiday season as we prepare gifts for our family and friends—and that is the sharing about the life-changing, wonderful love of God. The Gospel is literally the best news ever! Having a relationship with Jesus brings us joy, peace, and a fulfilling life. So as you pick gifts to give, let me encourage you to add a card. And inside, share a verse, like Romans 5:8: "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." And then write a note about how God has changed your life. Say, "If you'd like to hear more, I'd love to share with you about how having a relationship with God has impacted my life!" And then end wishing them blessings and love. Let's be intentional over the holidays to give the best gift ever. For more, visit www.sharelife.today.

  • Demonstrate God’s Love
    Nov 20 2024

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.

As the holiday season rolls around, it can be daunting to think about hosting your family and friends. There’re invitations to go out, food to be prepared, the energy that gets expended through all the planning...and perhaps there’s even worries about the disagreements that can happen when people of different views come together. But if we are to follow the example of our Lord and Savior, Jesus, this shouldn't discourage us. Jesus throughout all the Gospels was recorded sitting down with sinners and tax collectors and spending time with the outcast and the poor. Jesus is the epitome of a servant leader and friend of sinners. And as the holidays get closer, this is our opportunity to demonstrate God's love through hospitality and sharing the greatest news that will change lives for all eternity—the Gospel of Jesus Christ. So let's open our homes and start praying for opportunities. For resources, visit our website at www.sharelife.today.

  • Commitment to Pray
    Nov 19 2024

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.

The Scripture tells us that we don’t have because we don’t ask. So, today, I’d like to pose a challenge. Let’s find out what God will do when we ask Him to intervene and draw people that you and I know and love to faith in Jesus Christ. This week on Share Life Today, we’re focusing on sharing the Gospel during the holidays. But before we share, we need to pray for who we’re going to be around. Whoever they are – family members, friends, colleagues at work, neighbors – if they face an eternity without Christ, I urge you to write their name down and then begin to pray regularly for them. If you are already doing this, then wonderful. But too often you and I pray in general. We ask God to reach the unsaved millions across the world; and while that’s important, my challenge today is to be intentional so that you can be specific with God and then watch what He will do. May this be a holiday season of harvest for you. Visit www.sharelife.today.

  • Gratitude and Grace
    Nov 15 2024

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.

Did you know that gratitude goes hand-in-hand with grace? It makes sense when you think about it! The definition of grace is "the undeserved favor of God." Romans 3:24 says that we "are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus." You know, the natural response to a gift as big as the undeserved grace of God towards us—a people who chose rebellion against our Creator—is gratitude. And if it wasn't, there would be something seriously wrong! Have you witnessed a new believer be on fire for God? You can hardly contain them from telling everyone around them about what God has done in their life! "Amazing grace, how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me!" That should be our daily, natural, thankful response to God—we should tell everyone around us about what Jesus did for us on the cross. Not sure how to share this Good News? Well, we're here to help! Visit us at www.sharelife.today.

  • The Result of a Thankful Heart
    Nov 14 2024

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.

In the past month, my grandson had his birthday, and upon receiving his gifts, he said, “Wow! These are so cool I can’t stop being grateful!” We chuckled at these heartwarming words from a seven-year-old, but isn’t it just profound? When we are given good gifts, we just can’t help but be grateful. And we have received good gifts from our Heavenly Father–of first importance, the gift of salvation! He promised a Messiah who would come take away our sins, and He fulfilled the promise of salvation through Jesus to all who would put their full trust in Him. We have seen God’s goodness and faithfulness through Jesus, and we can also cling to His other promises that He’s made for us. The result is a heart ready to believe God at His Word and fulfill His purpose for our lives. Let’s obey Jesus by following His Great Commission to us to go and share the Gospel with our communities and families! For help, visit www.sharelife.today.
