I love how Dan’s passion for history and learning can be felt in his podcasts (basically audiobooks).
Comparing how religion of the time influenced iconography in Thor’s Angels allowed me to gain a first person perspective from that time. This the 3rd installment in that same series does not disappoint.
The beginning of this podcast was by far the best of any of the hardcore history episodes. Setting the stage for the story to come with context from the time and a truly infectious desire to learn.

I really didn’t care for history in school, finding it boring and not seeing the point. Then I listened to the King of Kings series and felt like I was at the center of the action. Experiencing it as it was occurring and I was hooked.
I can honestly say that Dan Carlin is the reason I now love history.
