Arjuna uvāca
Kaiḥ liṅgaiḥ trīn guṇān etān atīto bhavati prabho
Kim ācaraḥ kathañ ca etān trīn guṇān ativartate"Arjuna said: O Lord, by what signs or qualities can one who has transcended these three Gunas (Sattva, Rajas, and Tamas) be recognized? What are his actions and how does he transcend these Gunas?"
In this verse, Arjuna asks Lord Krishna to explain the characteristics and actions of a person who has risen above the influence of the three Gunas. Arjuna wants to know how such a person behaves and how they are able to transcend these qualities, which bind the soul to the material world.
