Featured Article: Venture into the Unknown and Unexplained with the Best Paranormal Podcasts

The paranormal genre is perfectly suited to podcasts, given how its ties to myths and legends are rooted in oral storytelling. In the same way that a campfire tale can give you goosebumps, the best paranormal podcasts are as much about performance and structure as the story itself. Some, like the gothic fiction of old, are purely imagined, while others offer a window into the unseen and unexplained pockets of our own reality.

I've been an avid listener for around a year now and the amazing way that Mr Washington paints & weaves his own life stories to perfect line up with the story to follow is something that can't be taught. ya girl falls asleep to spooks, murder. it's 24/7. Spooked has been the only one to freak me the f out.

when I get ballsy enough, I'd be honored to share my experiences of growing up in a home full of negative spirits (to put it extremely lightly) that have all finally came to a head as I've had to move back home & into the heart of where it all lies- the basement. one who doesn't believe just haven't experienced things that us others have and I love knowing I'm not alone.

10/10 my favorite podcast.

the only podcast that leaves me, well, spooked.

Spooked is definitely in my top 5 favorite podcasts of all time. I listen to alot of podcast. I love hearing creepy stories with a first person narrator, the person who actually experienced it. I’ve had some unsettling experiences concerning things I can’t explain so I love comparing and contrasting with others. Some stories aren’t as believable as others. Some I totally believe whole heartedly. Regardless, they’re all pretty good stories with great narration. Some people complain about Washington but I really like him. I think he’s a great voice actor and each episode he weaves in some anecdote that goes along with the topic of the stories. My favorite are the ones about his childhood. Whether they’re legit or made up idk. Doesn’t matter. Still great stories.

Creepiest True Life Stories!

After listening to hours of spooky stories on YouTube, I've come to realize that many of those stories are repeated across different channels. Not here tho. All of these are personal stories, told by the individual. Perfect for long car rides or cleaning.

Fantastic!

Glynn Washington’s spooky narration and carefully selected stories combined with creepy sound effects, and his ability to command amazing performances from ordinary people, makes this an extraordinary experience. NOT another rambling podcast with a little bit of story and a lot of radio personality…far from it! This is, like the Scary Stories trilogy, packed with hard-hitting stores and nothing else (only without the cheesy narration). Hear about ghosts, premonitions, demons, glitches, and other paranormal phenomena, from the people who experienced it! These stories are for adults and older teens…I recommend previewing each story before sharing with younger kids. Some are about friendly ghosts or spirits of loving, departed family members. My family has listened to, enjoyed, and discussed many of these positive stories together. Others are about angry, destructive entities or murder, and quite disturbing. Depending on who I’m listening with and how strong I feel, I listen selectively. I have great family memories of sharing these stories with the lights out, candles lit, and a trembling Westie in my lap (the spooky sounds may get to your dog, too). Washington, with a great ear for quality, requests, “Not just ‘I saw a ghost’ stories. Everybody saw a ghost. We want to hear about a story that changed your life, and the way you see the world.” (Quote not exact, but contributors have definitely delivered). I hope Spooked adds more stories to the collection…I am always at the edge of my seat!
