  • SoulConnect #1 - The Red String
    Jul 1 2020

The power of imagery is immense. As it is said, a picture is worth a thousand words, and the images we hold in our minds can lend us access to the very bottom of our being - what does ‘life’ look like to me, what do ‘I’ look like? Am I my body? Am I a lonely computer enclosed in a meat sac? Am I water in a great stream, rising and falling in a thousand waves? Am I a vibrating string - or two - in a grand symphony of the universe? These metaphors, deep inside, define who we are and determine how we show up, the choices we make, and the actions we take in life.

My recent, most profound learnings have come from shifts in my internal imagery and metaphors - first knowing that there are alternative stories I could be operating from, and then playing with them to see if they work better for me. I have made it my daily ritual, a sort of morning prayer, to call up certain images that resonate with me and really see them, hear, smell, and feel them inside me. Afterwards, I often feel more connected and grounded, and find myself with more clarity and less distraction as I begin my day.

So I offer this little adventure as the first of the SoulConnect series, where we’ll delve a bit deeper and explore our inner landscapes through imagery, metaphors, music… Take a deep breath, and let’s follow the red string up and up, into the clouds.

This podcast has been possible because of my beloved teacher and The Heroines' Journeys women's group, that have and continue to catalyze and support my soul's unfolding in ways I had never imagined before. If you resonate with the messages you find here, and you are looking to dive into deeper, more structured self-transformation work, you can check out The Heroines' Journeys program on our website and Facebook page.

And finally, you can find more of my music on my website and YouTube channel.

I love a good checklist. Especially the part where I get to make it and then check it off, of course! And the stuff that comes in between? Well, I guess that's where I'm supposed to actually do the things... But more and more, I'm thinking I got the order all backwards, and that the best checklists are the ones I didn't even know I had.

  • On the Nature of Nature
    May 8 2020

What is nature? We all say it's important. We say we're out of touch with it. In these strange times, we say we both need more of it and less of it. We put up signs to protect it. We put up fences to be protected from it.

Nature - red in tooth in claw.
Nature - a great symphony of symbiosis.

How do I fit in in this equation? What are the notes I contribute to this symphony? Will I play and burn out, though no one will applaud until long after I'm gone? Or do I seek to seize the ending and steal the prize, so that I alone stand on the stage, sterile and hysteric?

Join me on my nature walk through a suburban place of shelter, on an April afternoon, 2020.
